Happy Birthday Axel

My baby turned one on the 17th. I will admit I am sad at how quickly he is growing up. But I will say he is by far the best baby in the world. These pictures don't lie. He really is this happy all the time. I love you Axel!!!!!

We are still alive!!!

Yes we are still alive and doing well. School has started and life is looking up. I am sorry I haven't posted in a while but life has been a tad bit crazy. But I have now gotten you all up to date with the happenings here.

And he is off....

Here he is taking his almost very first steps. The first didn't make it on camera. I can't lie though I am a little sad that he is starting to walk. I am not ready for my baby to grow up yet. I was hoping he would wait just a little longer before he started. However he still prefers to crawl over walking so maybe I will get what I want after all.

Axel's first haircut

Here is Axel's first haircut. As you can see he looked totally happy. Actually he cried through most of it but every time I would say to Axel, "say cheese" he would smile at the camera, it was great. He hated getting his haircut. But he did look handsome.

No he is not abusing him. In fact he wasn't crying here at all. I wish you could see the video of this but it wouldn't download.

Oh how cute!!!

And just to prove that he loved his daddy still he posed for this cute picture afterwards.

Lego Land

We promised the boys we would take them to Lego Land after we moved to California. So here we are. Now they can't say we don't keep our promises. They were in heaven and could have stayed forever but we had to leave because JJ had a couple of dental emergencies he had to take care of that evening. But they had a fun filled day while there.

Here is Jorden and mom driving the boats. Thank goodness for the bumpers around the track. Jorden did fabulous at driving.

Michael and Gunnar being eaten by Jaws!!

Axel getting friendly with the pirate.

Dad and Jorden flying an airplane. Don't they both look so happy!!!?

Our last weeks of Summer

We spent our last few weeks of Summer playing at the beach. All my boys were hesitant to go but have realized how much they love it. (It is a good thing too!!!)

This is Michael, Gunnar, and their cousin Brynnly. She just wanted to do what ever they did even though the waves kept knocking her over.

Here is Jorden, he loved racing the waves back into shore.

Jorden took up a new sport of boogie boarding. I thought at first he would be too scared to try it but he did and loved it.

Gunnar did too. Michael not so much but he will learn.

Here is Axel, he just loved eating food!!!

Our New House

Yeah right but a girl can dream right??? I went through some model homes with my Mom and we fell in love with this family room and this kitchen. Two separate homes but they fit together so well. Someday we can have cool houses right? I really need to take some pictures of the house we do live in though. It is really nice. I feel spoiled.

Check out this kitchen. It has so many cupboards in it I would actually have empty ones. How cool would that be!!!

11 Years Later

Well the time has come. JJ and I have officially been married for 11 years. I can not believe it. We were such babies, what were we thinking!!!
I can say however that 11 years later, I really love him a lot more than I did then, and I sure loved him a lot then.

We met many moons ago when we were really just mere babes. Yes we were so young that I am surprised he didn't run away from me because I had cooties or something. We started dating after the Mission. And now here we are a few pounds heavier but all the more in love.

Here are somethings we have learned about each other over the years:

1. Becky can't produce female offspring. (JJ sure doesn't help with this either.)
2. JJ does love jello.
3. Becky doesn't like newborn babies.
4. JJ loves to eat cereal at all hours, both day and night. But at least he has learned to put the milk away.
5. Becky doesn't mind using the bathroom with the door open.
6. JJ still likes the door closed.
7. Becky likes a clean front room and could careless about the bedroom. (Who sees it anyway.) JJ likes a clean bedroom. (Yet he still leaves his clothes on the floor or the chair, go figure)
8. Becky gets more beautiful everyday.
9. JJ is by far the hottest man in the universe!!!
10. Becky has stinky feet.
11. JJ loses his wallet and keys on a regular basis. I should have picked up on this one right from the start. (That's another story.)
12. Becky tries but is not very "girly" with clothes and hair and stuff like that.
13. JJ needs a closet twice the size as mine for all his clothes and shoes etc...
14. Becky is always willing to go the extra mile for her friends.
15. JJ can be the biggest goofball, but, he is also the most caring and loving man I have ever been married to, he is also the best Dad a kid could ask for.
16. Becky is not as romantic in nature as I am, but she is my best friend in the world and cant imagine me without her. I just love her to bits!

How'd you get so cute? Look at my Aunt Fany

My family had a family reunion this last weekend. It was so fun. We played, ate, swam and drove all over. I will show you pictures of my family as soon as we get them. This is on the dock of Lake San Vicente when the favorite Aunt, Aunt Fany showed up. All of "her babies" (that's what she calls them all) ran up to hug her. Okay so Elli (the little baby) didn't run up to see her, but her mommy did.

Here are the three amigos. Axel, Bryce and AJ. We could not for the life of us get the three of them to look at the camera all together. But we sure had fun trying.

Beach Time

And of course what is California without the beach. The boys loved it!! (Even though that started out the morning complaining that they didn't want to go.) The cute little girl in the picture is my niece Brynnly. She loved to play with the boys. However I think she still had sand in her hair two days later.

Gunnar's Birthday

Gunnar turned 6 this month. He had a little party at his Grandma and Grandpa's house. The dark head boy you see is his cousin Jeffrey and his cousin Aiden was there too but he fell asleep.

He got everything he wanted plus more.

This is a transformer gun that he received from his Aunt Kimmie. I believe this won the prize for the best present ever.

However this is the face we were looking for when Daddy brought out his new bike. He was soooo excited. What a lucky kid.

And he is off....

To get you up to speed with our littlest dude, Axel decided to start crawling about two days before we moved from Ohio. Now he is all over the place and loving life. I am so glad we live in a one story house!!!

Can you say Princess Leia?

Here is Jorden with his Uncle Lance. We don't know who is teaching who. But we do know that the kids love living by their Aunt Shell and Uncle Lance. And that their poor cousins Wyatt, Jess and Aly are going to be driven crazy by them in no time.

We're finally here

Well I finally got the Internet up and working so I will catch you all up to speed on the Campbell's. We made our four day journey across the country and everyone did surprisingly well, yes I am a slave driver and we did drive straight there. I hate to stop all the time. We did have one mishap on the journey and I would like to share that with you. While on our trek to California, Axel started running a fever. I gave him tylenol and he was already on antibiotics for an ear infection so we kept on going seeing as the tylenol was working. As we headed towards Omaha, Nebraska, our next stopping point, we saw a sign for Council Bluffs. Well as you know that is close to where winter quarters was for the saints heading to Zion. Anyway Axel's fever kept coming back and as any mom does out on the "trek" I started to get a little concerned for my little guy. So I decided we would make one stop on our trip. We could go tour the visitors center and there I was sure we could find another Priesthood holder to help JJ give our little guy a blessing. We walked in and just as we expected there was a missionary there waiting just for us. Long story short Axel was blessed to recover quickly while on the trip and he did. But my point of sharing this is this. I felt so blessed to know that no matter where I go there are worthy brethren everywhere that hold the priesthood. I am so grateful that my husband has kept himself worthy to have that priesthood so that he can bless our family with it. Sorry to ramble on like this I just had to share that. The next posts will be pictures I promise. And to everyone we have left in Cleveland, we love you and miss you a lot.

We Made It!!!

Well it is official. JJ has graduated from dental school. Yes he is officially a Dentist. We are so excited. His graduation day was great and we were so thankful to all his family and my dad for coming out for the big day. We had so much fun being with everyone. Our official move date is June 7th and we are getting excited to make the trip back home. Although we are really going to miss all the friends we have made while here. We have truly been blessed with the people we have met and grown to love while here. So to all of you in sunny California, we will see you soon and to all of you here in "The Ohio", we will miss you all and we love you.

What artists I have!!!!

So I have just come home from a wonderful get away to St. Louis for an Alliance convention for the ADA. (This is for spouses of Dentists) Well anyway, I was in the family room talking to JJ and heard one of the boys playing with the crayons and markers. I yelled to him and reminded him that we only color at the table and on paper. (It is a line we use daily.) Well about an hour later Jorden comes down to tell me that I need to come see their "decoration". So I proceed up stairs only to find the two other boys hiding. I began to be a little suspicious now what this "decoration" might be. Hiding is never a good indication of  something good. Well to my utmost surprise, here it is. Yes they decided to color the side table in Michael's room. Isn't it beautiful!! All I could do was take big, deep breaths. After all I didn't want to start yelling at them within the first hours of my arrival. Needless to say they have all been restricted from crayons and markers for a while, not to mention a few other things, and I had to take a picture for posterity's sake. JJ thinks I should put a coat of polyurethane over it and save it this way. I am not quite sure about that. So if any one knows how to get crayon off of wood by something other than stipping it, I would appreciate the advice.

Toothless

Well it is official, Michael can finally sing the song "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth".  He and dad remove the second one last night. It had been loose for awhile now but just wouldn't come out. Then him and Gunnar were wrestling and Gunnar elbowed him in the tooth. What a fun evening we had!!!!!

Dental Prom

Here are the Prom King and Queen!! Just kidding but we do look pretty good I think. Especially my scruffy faced man that can't shave.

Explanation of the "surgery"

All right, so here is the story.  One day I had a little innocent zit which I took great pleasure in popping.  (A normal everyday pop, nothing remarkable or worthy of note like shooting the mirror or anything like that...)  Two days later the spot in question got a little sore and swollen, and rather unsightly.  I tried to pop it again and again but it only hurt really really bad without any gratuitous explosion whatsoever. One night things got so bad (big and sore) that I couldn't take it anymore- I looked a little like that Sloth character from Goonies -  so I went to one of those little emergency room deals where the one doctor in there is only there because he has to complete so many "community service" hours before they will give him his license back. A real delightful guy to be with.  He gets me numb and does a little blunt dissection, a little squeeze and drainage that I could feel dripping down my neck, really big bandage, some antibiotics and out the door.   He did just fine, I don't mean to paint him so poorly

Still swollen, I went to the friendly Oral Surgery department at school.  I was informed I had an Epidermal Inclusion Cyst that would most likely flair up from time to time if not removed.  So I waited till I healed all up and went in for the little procedure that I have shared with you.

Thank you emergency Dr!  Big thanks to the OS residents at school who did wonderful.  Special thanks to Jake and Larry who took my picture and held my hand in surgery.

The joys of Dental School!
Love,
JJ

Splash Lagoon

Well we just returned home from our annual indoor waterpark trip. One thing we will really miss when we move. But anyway, the boys had a blast. We hardly saw Michael the whole time as he was running everywhere doing every slide he could get to. I think he had a goal to ride every slide at least 20 times. I am pretty sure he accomplished that goal. Gunnar did all the slides with Dad and then spent the last part of the day playing in the kids hot tub. He said he was too cold to do the slides anymore. I think it is because he is just too dang skinny. He needs a little fat on those bones. Jorden loved the waterpark and even went on the big slides with dad. He came back to tell me that he was so brave. Axel was shall we say perfect!!! He just enjoyed sitting on our laps and watching the kids play. He even had fun himself splashing in the water.

Video of a race

Here is Michael with his lightning fast car. Dad said he could have any design he wanted and all Michael wanted was the one on the box. So with a little coaxing Dad got to embellish it a little. Michael painted the whole thing all by himself. Dad just put on the tape so he could have flames. Michael really wanted the flames.

And the winner is....

Michael took FIRST place in the 8 year old division. He scored SECOND overall. We were so proud of him.
